Fostering Reflection in Work-Based Learning

Internship can be a uniquely enriching experience but not every student will benefit from it unless he/she is able to reflect on the experience and learn from it. In this video, Mrs. Alice Lo recaps School of Design's experience in preparing and engaging students in critical reflection to maximize the benefits of internship. She observed that students’ reports had been typically descriptive rather than reflective, and concluded that it is important to give students some guidance on critical reflection prior to the internship.
