For most students, a 3-hour lecture is long and boring. How to turn it into a dynamic, interactive and fruitful learning experience? In this video, Dr. Alison Lloyd shows how a typical lecture can be enriched and enlivened with suitable group exercises. She highlights the importance of choosing appropriate material supporting students during and after the group work, and shares some tips on how to create an atmosphere that encourages participation. Her students found that group activities helped them to absorb knowledge better, and they enjoyed her lectures very much.

About the Teacher
Dr. Alison Lloyd is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Management and Marketing. She is also the recipient of Faculty of Business Teaching Prize in 2010/2011, and Faculty of Business Teaching Award in 2011/2012.
