Service + Learning

Dr. Grace Ngai, Dr. Stephen Chan and Dr. Vincent Ng are pioneers of service learning in PolyU. In this video, they and their students share their experience of a service learning trip to Cambodia in which they visited slums and orphanages as well as taught computing skills to poor children at local schools. Their experience shows that sufficient preparation is key to a fruitful service learning experience. Students found service learning a great opportunity to practise their knowledge and skills as well as to progress in their personal development and social engagement.
