Programme and Subject Evaluation

Subject Evaluation Questionnaire (SEQ)

The Subject Evaluation Questionnaire (SEQ) is an optical-mark-read questionnaire form designed for collecting feedback from students on a subject. It consists of 21 standardised closed-response type questions focusing on the following seven dimensions of a programme:

  • Organisation
  • Motivation
  • Interaction
  • Workload
  • Learning outcome
  • Assessment
  • Individual help

It also contains three open-ended questions asking students to comment on the best aspects of the subject, the worst aspects of the subject, and how the subject could be improved. Colleagues may also include up to 18 extra questions in the closed-response type format on the form.

The SEQ forms are available from the EDC. In addition, we help departments to analyse the data and report the results. To request for the data analysis service, please send the SEQ forms together with a duly completed Requisition for Teaching Evaluation Data Analysis Services Form, to the EDC.
